SANTI, the Spirit Animal of UA

One of the founding pillars of the University of Antique was the former Mayor Santiago Lotilla, and to give honor to his legacy and generosity the UA introduced its official mascot named Santi-the Ant inspired from the University spirit animal Subay.

It marks as it made history among the State Universities in Western Visayas to be the only university with its symbolic feature characterized by Santi. Moreover, November 11, 2019 when Santi was launched coincides with the opening of hUgyAw 2019 as approved by the Board of Regents last August.

This hugyaw 2019 synchronized in the celebration of 10th year anniversary of conversion of Polytechnic State College of Antique into University of Antique.

Sir Allan formulate the UA Red Ants Code of Conduct. Ideally, UAneans should:

BE A DREAMER, DREAM BIG. Like ants-little may be who carry loads heavier than them and build colonies bigger than we imagine, the UA RED ANTS strive to excel, pursue big dreams and work to achieve them like a true champion.

Second, BE PERSISTENTLY PURPOSE-DRIVEN. Like ants who are focused on their goal to gather as much food in dry season. UA RED ANTS set clear-cut goals and priorities to which they channel their time and energy while at the university. Be persistent

Third, BE A TEAM-PLAYER. Like ants whose work is for colony. UA RED ANTS show commitment to work together beyond individual differences, upholding the common good of the university.

Fourth, BE ALWAYS PREPARED. LIKE ants that do not stop the wet season, UA RED ANTS commit to constantly train and be prepared for battles and tasks ahead.

ifth, BE SERVANT TO EACH OTHER. Like ants who lead and heal each other, UA RED ANTS help each other and serve the UA Community in particular and the Antique province in general.

Sixth, BE A TRUE ANTIQUEŇO. UA RED ANTS are integrated individual, taking pride in their Antiqueῆo heritage, acknowledging and fulfilling their role as stewards of the province. As such, they act at all times in the interest of the province and the country.

To represent the UAneans, RED ANTS is now the official animal symbolizing the University of Antique.
